The Governing Board of SECAT, at its meeting of May 8, 2025, resolves the II SECAT Video Contest "Catalyzing the future of ...", aimed at predoctoral research staff in training and partners. The purpose is to give visibility to the research work carried out in the different research groups that make up the Society. The aim is to bring the knowledge and scientific and technological advances of their research in the field of catalysis and its importance in the future of various sectors (energy, environment, materials, etc.) closer to the non-specialised public.
Awards
Up to 3 prizes are awarded: the first of 500€ and two of 250€ to finalists.
The winners will receive a certificate/diploma accrediting them.
All participants will receive a certificate of participation and recognition.
The awards ceremony will be held to coincide with the celebration of the 2025 General Assembly, during the SECAT'2025 Congress (Alcalá de Henares on 17-20 June).

"Chiral Zeolites"
In this video he explains how chiral zeolites, materials with helical pores, can revolutionize chiral drug synthesis. Through the example of GTM-4, he shows how its structure allows the formation of an enantiomer on its mirror image, which could make drugs safer and more effective!
