Research Contract Offer – Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ)

–term: 18 October 2023

Title: Advanced Characterization of Zeolites and their Use in Industrially Relevant Separation Processes

A contract is available in the Institute of Chemical Technology (ITQ) under project TED2021–130191B-C41 (funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/501100011033 and by "ERDF A way of making Europe" of the European Union's NextGenerationEU/PRTR). The possibility that at the end of the contract the selected person will develop a Doctoral Thesis within the research team will be assessed.

The ITQ opens the call for the research project described below, supervised by Dr. Teresa Blasco and Prof. Fernando Rey:

The project will focus on understanding the adsorption and diffusion of small molecules through very homogeneous and narrow structural pores of zeolitic and MOF materials.
To this end, a series of multidisciplinary techniques will be applied, including theoretical modelling, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy, X-ray and electron diffraction, as well as experiments in large scientific facilities (synchrotron and neutron radiation sources, high magnetic field NMR spectroscopy). The selected person will have a unique opportunity to conduct experiments using excellent facilities along with complementary simulation methods, to gain insight into a crucial chemical process in the future.
The project will be based at the ITQ in Valencia, Spain, where it will be able to take advantage of world-class solids adsorption and characterization facilities and close contact with industry.

Profile requested:

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemistry or Materials Science will be positively valued

Procedure:

Interested persons should email their CV to:

Dr. Teresa Blasco (e-mail: tblasco@itq.upv.es)

Prof. Fernando Rey (e-mail: frey@itq.upv.es)

The call will remain open until October 18, 2023. The selection will take place at the end of October.
